LANSING – State Representative Coleman A. Young II (D-Detroit) today applauded the recent decision by the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) to approve $3.8 million in tax credits for Strategic Staffing Solutions, L.C. to open a new information technology center in Detroit.
"This is great news for Detroit," Young said. "At a time when nearly 30 percent of our residents are out of work, job providers like Strategic Staffing Solutions are just what Detroit needs to get folks back to work and move our city forward. I would like to thank Strategic Staffing Solutions for making this investment in our community and our economy."
Last week, Detroit-based Strategic Staffing Solutions received a Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) tax credit valued at $3.8 million over five years to open a new information technology development center. The business consultant company, which also considered North Carolina and Lithuania for this project, plans to invest $7.3 million and create 268 new jobs over the next five years in addition to its existing 169 employees. According to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, this facility is expected to create 802 spin-off jobs in Michigan and boost state revenue by $8.8 million by 2015.
